Spectacled Owl Chicks Born Fluffy White
Spectacled owl chicks may be born fluffy white (with a black face) but they will change into one of the more striking colored (black, white and yellow) owls in the world. They sure take their time about it though. They may be slowly putting on their adult feathers for up to two years. The last to go is the white on their heads which will eventually be almost all black except for the “spectacles” making a semi-circle around the eyes. It grows to be a rather large owl and has some intense yellow staring eyes as well.
